Hi Bob and welcome to the mad world of Triple-M. I believe you have bought the best model with the combination of style and practicability. Having bought and restored one I got to know the in's and out's. I sold F0753 3 years ago now. To answer your question, a pair of Rotax K624's where or should be fitted to the F2. Originals are extremely rare and tend to come through the dealers to market with a high price tag, but there are excellent reproductions with most being correct but some are not, beware. Alternatively it has been observed that D-type, J-types and F-types did come out of the 30's with Lucas L140 lamp too, but again there where a variety of them made with different lenses, but mainly defused and flat. This is a cheaper, no sorry, a less expensive option that will look beautiful and correct too.

Wow, that looks fantastic, I hope I can do mine justice as well. We’re you referring to Rotax or Lucas when you said retro’s are available ? |

S and J Spinning in Dorset do make the correct K624's as they used my originals to replicate every feature. I have no vested interest in this business other than it all worked out for me and would recommend them.

Richard is right, S&J is out of business but Willie McKenzie from Austin Repro took over the tools and the technical equipment. He produced two sets of headlamps for me two years ago. |

Here they are. The only things missing are the parts in the bowls into which the screws screw to secure the rim. They are inside but I have to say I am not sure if the screws are there or not so you may need to find them.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers

Thank you Peter that’s much appreciated, just a couple of questions. Is there any damage to the bowls, dents scratches etc. and the rims. what is the chrome like any marks, damage. The glasses are they different ? Are the reflectors in the lamps ? Are the lamps visually identical ? Is there a Lucas L 140 stamp on the base ? Sorry for so many questions. If we agree how would you like payment ? Many thanks, BobC |
