Hi,
I’m looking for an old set of brake cables to experiment with. The main part I need is the bracket that the cable passes through at the chassis. Length and condition of cable immaterial.
Hopefully someone has something hiding under a bench!

Hello, Chris. I have a spare bracket only, without any cable if that is any good. Just let me have your address and I will send it. Cheers, Chris |

No idea Chris, if it concerns your experiments with the brake cable brackets.
But surely you are aware, that there are existing different types. Besides the old standard steel ones, since some years they are made in an aluminium composition.
But there also are such, which have an equipment for cable adjusting.(see photo below)
Some people tell, that originally they are only used for N-type rear brake cables.
Although that equipment can be very useful, and as far as I remember, Andy King made some a while ago. Gerhard

Hello, Gerhard. Interesting comments. The N type bracket with adjuster as shown in your picture was also used on the K3, as you probably know. Regards, Chris (H) |

OK Chris(H), when I got K3013 from John Cramer 36 years ago, it regrettably was converted to hydraulics. But because I could not see any illustration of a bracket with adjuster, in the K Manual as well as in the 1933 K3 Supplement, I rebuilt the car by using non adjustable brackets. And to be honest, it would have been difficult to find a set of those ! Regards, Gerhard |

For anyone interested in these inline cable adjustable brackets, I got Ron Grant to cast some of these up some time ago using an old N type one as a pattern. Andy King may have the patterns which Ron had. Chris |
