A photo of a photo I saw recently.
The J2 pictured J 2791. MG 2254. According to the register it was last known in the 1986 issue. As a matter of interest is it known today?

Another view of the same car, Brian, and your picture solves the mystery of which one it is.

Believed to be alive and well in the Leeds area, but not known to the UK tax authorities under MG 2254.

Dear Forum:
Looks like a publicity photograph. Are there other photographs? Anything known about MG 2362? DVLA no help. All the best.

MG2362 is K0273. On the latest Register owned by Andy Rogers and shown as "chassis, engine and some bits". Now he has a photograph showing what it looked like originally.

Simon. Thanks for the additional photo. A much better view of the car, methinks. As a matter of interest where did you find it?
Colin. Thanks for the info. on MG2362 K0273. I wasn't sure if it was a K1 or a KN.
I can offer some information on the car:
K 0273. Original engine- 538AK. Saloon. Green/Green. Agent. University Motors. Original Owner. F. Flower. Engine changed 573A113D. November 11/33. Jan. 1935 owned by; C. Robinson.
I wonder what engine number Andy Roberts has ?
Thanks, Guys.

Hello Brian According to the Factory records we have, the original engine number would have been 528AK

Brian,
The photo was sent to me when I was looking for information on tonneau covers for J2s. You'll see that the tonneau cover is very different to the ones that are usually seen in contemporary photos (it has a seam around the perimeter to give a much more tailored finish than the standard factory item).

Winding back 5 years, MG 2362 is in fact K0269 rather than K0273 as suggested.
A black K1 pillarless saloon, it was sold through University Motors to a certain A Duckham of London EC4 in April 1933, which may suggest a link to the Duckhams publicity picture.
Apart from factory records which show that the car had a replacement engine when 7 months old, we have no other info about the car, alas and it is likely not to have survived.
