The MG Era day at Brooklands is a popular event and next year's takes place on Sunday, 19th April.
The Brooklands organiser Steve Castle is building on last year's event and the 2020 plans are along the following lines:
There are a number of notable anniversaries to be celebrated, including the 90th Anniversary of the MG Car Club itself.
Following on from the success of the “timeline” display from last year, in which cars were arranged along the finishing straight in date order , they are working on putting together something similar for 2020.
Triple-M cars will be based mainly in the Campbell car park area (as last year), as long as we are able to put some of our cars on display in the timeline.
They will be offering a lunchtime cavalcade at the adjacent Merceded Benz World as well as Test Hill ascents in the afternoon for anyone who wishes to participate.
The Brooklands website is not yet updated with event details but here is their phone number: 01932 857381
It would help the Register is anyone thinking of attending the event could please let yours truly know so that we can give Brooklands an idea of likely numbers and models.
Thank you

Hi Dick, is this a MG only event on 19th April, or a British Car event? I've heard conflicting information from different sources. Many thanks Colin

Hi Colin
According to Steve at Brooklands it is very much an MG event although "we have had to include our “British Marques Day” as part of the day’s displays, but cars from this will be parked up in separate spaces around the site so we can keep the MG part of the day separate and to the forefront of what goes on"

That's good to hear then Dick. Many thanks for the confirmation I guess personally with MGCC Brands and VSCC Silverstone the same weekend I am unlikely to make it to Brooklands as well sadly :(

With the MG etc day at Brooklands just over a month away, could folk please let us have an indication of whether they plan to attend? No commitment of course - just trying to get an idea of possible numbers..
Thanks Dick Morbey |

Dear all
It will come as no surprise to learn theat Brooklands have now announced that the MG and British Marques event scheduled for 19th April has been posponed. More details are available at https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/your-visit/coronavirus-statement
We are all very disappointed about this but it is probably 'all for the best'.
Stay healthy and please take cxare.
