Colin I will do some thinking about how that could be implemented. Avatars tend to be small because they have to fit inside the box on the left of each message and they would also be public. If we had a separate section under pictures, should it be public or private (members of the forum only). If private it would require the use of the forum username and password to view any of the pictures. Being logged into the forum would not give you access. Is that too inconvenient? Nick

Nick, I do not believe having to log in separately to see pictures is too much trouble. Actually think it should be required .

Sorry Mike but just to be clear, do you think it should be required or you do think it should not be required? Nick

I agree with Mike L. Separate log-in should be required rather than have the world and his dog able to see.
Colin mentioned privacy in his original post. I don't see this as an issue; if you supply a photo, you do so knowing it will be visible to all members.

Lesson one in Triple-M ownership: NEVER apologies for posting pictures of your car whatever the size! You look very pleased with your purchase, and rightly so. Incidentally, I think I have a few photos of your car during a previous ownership, email me if you are interested in having copies. tdothartley555atgmaildotcom.

Nick & Mike,
If you are talking about the normal login required to post a topic or reply, then yes, I agree that login should be required to view the pictures. I would prefer that we do not require a separate, additional login just to view the pictures. I have too many passwords as it is (and yes, I do have a password manager ).

Colin No, not another password but the same one as used here on the forum. My thoughts so far: Once logged in a member can view all photos (view mode). The files would be ordered alphabetically by last name. There would also be a "search" function. Each member who wants to post a picture has their own file. Only they can add or change pictures in their own file. I would have access to all files but would grant that same privilege to a "moderator".
Anything else? Nick
