I've just re-unearthed some photos of M Type GJ 3066, mentioned elsewhere here under "ARCHWAY ENGINEERING MANCHESTER" which is archived along with my post from May 2017. It was clearly part way through a restoration and wasn't a runner due to lots of obviously missing bits. Here are my old photos probably taken by my father in the '70s or early '80s? My previous post got some interesting comments such as it is MMM Number 871 and 2M1543 but the data plate here shows 2M1544
Now is that not interesting! The register has 2M1543 as GJ 3066 and register number 871, and was owned by a William Fletcher, and still by N. Cormack O.B.E. However, 2M1544 was GJ 2146 before it lost its number to a dealer in 1995, and is now SV 5438 and a well known car. It is 1135 on the register. Can you please send me the photographs. Cheers and stay safe.
Interesting that my M-type (2M1281) is also a GJ registration (GJ5795) but has a much earlier chassis number. I wouldn't have thought that a later registration number would be assigned to an earlier car, especially as they were both first registered in the spring of 1930.
