My 1935 MG KN0389 came with an original Smith Auto badge installed. Someone in the UK asked for details and was going to replicate the badge and I took photos and dimensions. Sorry, I don't remember, but there should be a reproduction available, if not the real badge. Bob from Canada. k

Bob and Forum:
Original Dealership badges less the car are far and few. If a reproduction/s are available ; I am sure I am not alone in buying one. So do they exist? All the best.

Further to previous email re the Smith Auto badge, I followed up with the UK company who were interested in replicating the Smith Auto badge. I received the following email. There email address is enameller@googlemail.com Apparently no Smith Auto badge was created, but there is hope??

Dear Bob, We knew that we would not be able to replicate the unenamelled winged part of the badge exactly as the original but please see a photo of the MG Wadham badge that we made. I never did make the Smith version of the badge but I could change the words at the bottom of the badge and I can see that it has a different colour of enamel around the words. The current price to make this badge is 111 pounds + Postage. We are not VAT registered. I am very very busy at the moment, payment and delivery would be at the end of March. Best Regards Derron

Nigel,
Of all the horrible things that can happen to us in the MMM world having that badge stolen is a shocker. Can you share the story with us?

Hi Brian Let me dig it out of my spare parts department and check to make sure its not as shown, but I could be wrong. The theft took place after the article published in Enjoying MG 1988 that featured AGW666 on the front cover. Because the badge is shown in that article, and from that article and with the help of Bob I was able to get a copy made while in the UK. Honestly AGW666 had some really hard times in the wrong hands. This is just the tip of the iceberg. But its a common story for a lot of old things. Try collecting old clocks!
