Some time ago I asked if anyone had any reference to the car. The picture was taken around 1972 and shows his then Bernt Johan Scheffler with the J2693. That's how many pictures an original picture. Bernt Johan Scheffler has owned this J for many years.

Hi !
The engine was no longer original in 1964. The modified engine was 803cc.
Send picture afterwards. I have the original picture.

MG J2 with chassis no .: J2693, registration number: U-16513, the Halvor Westgaard from Trondheimer
Taxi owner Tranøy (Tranø, Tranö) acquired in 1964. Halvor Westgaard called his J2 "Florrie".
In February 1967, Halvor Westgaard passed his J2 on to Bernt Johan Scheffler (Halvor Westgaard's fellow architecture student).

Addresses of Bernt Johan Scheffler:
Bernt Johan Scheffler, Idrettsveien 51, 9000 Tromsø, Norway (No. 6 1972)
Bernt Johan Scheffler, Granittvegen7, 9022 Krokelvdalen, Norway (No. 13 1974)
Bernt Johan Scheffler, Olav Aukrustsgt. 17, Hamar, Norway

The J2 was built in England on 11.1932 and was exported to Norway as a new car.
The registration was probably made in 1933. The original color was green with green and later became
changed to white.
Unfortunately, the J2 was in poor condition and only around 25% of it was original (as of 1967). A complete restoration was necessary and the J2 was completely dismantled for the restoration in 1971. State of the J2693 1977/1978 disassembled. Current condition unknown.

The J2693 is said to be still in Norway. However, I have no reliable confirmation of this.
I'M LOOKING FOR MORE INFORMATION. I AM VERY INTERESTED IN IT.
THANK YOU for any information
Robert (F1164)

With my little eye, I spy:

1. new tyres with the paper tags still on the tread.

2. early style windscreen frame without the additional supports on the sides and drilled for a vacuum wiper motor.

3. headlamps (possibly TC lamps?) that aren't mounted on the brackets that moved their position inboard.

Obviously an early car that doesn't have the mentioned changes that the factory added or changed during production.

Sven, my first thought about the engine was a B series. I wasn't thinking about the smaller engine. In any case, the rocker covers do look similar on both series if I'm not mistaken.

Robert, can you post the individual photo (top right) of the view from the rear from your photo showing the five photos?

Can anyone else make a sentence with the word "photo" being used more than three times? (I must be in a jovial mood this morning!)

I do really enjoy seeing these older photos of our MMM cars.

Best regards,

John

The pictures are in an envelope with the following description:

HW = Halvor Westgaard
B.J. Scheffler = Bernt Johan Scheffler
