No prizes for identifying Goldie Gardner & K3007 in 1937 guise, plus I'm pretty sure the location is outside the clubhouse at Brooklands. But, has anybody an idea who the chap on the right is? he looks kind of familiar, but that's as far as I've got, so over to the combined wisdom of The Forum?

That should be Ron T Horton - he was a successful driver in Gardner's teams of C Types and K3's. Ted. |

My initial thought as well Ted (probably the glasses). But in all the other pics I have of Ron himself, he's not as "rounded", much thinner in the face. Also, by 1937 Ron had sold his cars to return to the family brewing business, pretty much walking away from all things motorsport. On close inspection, he appears to be wearing one of those "winged" M.G. lapel badges & the impressive array of pens in his top pocket make me wonder if he was a Factory man or track official maybe?

The "mystery man" is Robin Jackson. His place of work (The Robinery") was just round the back from where the photograph was taken.

Thank you Colin. The very same name was given to me off line - the centre parting being one of the give aways! |
