I started up the engine of J2391 this afternoon - for the first time since I broke the crankshaft in 1972 or 3! It ran nicely, with loads of oil pressure. Here's a link to a video:

One or two more jobs to do before we can go for a drive...

Thanks for the really helpful advice I had from the Technical Information Forum earlier this year: https://www.triple-mregister.org/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17716. I bought the 2008 yearbook and found Andrew Bradshaw's article very helpful.

After Colin Bird at the Tamar Valley Motoring Centre had sorted the bottom end of my engine, he agreed that my cylinder head needed valve seat inserts and recommended Tipton Garage https://www.tiptongarage.co.uk/. Richard Miles (who founded the business in 1976) was great to deal with.
