Currently for sale on ebay (no connection) is a copy of Practical Motorist magazine from 18th July 1936. The front cover features a photo/illustration of an MG F1 registration PJ4692. Did this car ever exist and if so has it survived?

The vendor also includes a photo showing the magazine contents. Interestingly, this photo also shows a column entitled 'Topical Notes and News of the Week' which contains a paragraph 'Toll of the Road'. This gives the statistic that 126 people were killed and 5,699 injured in road accidents during w/ending 27th June. Total road deaths so far that year were 2,862 and, thankfully, that was down 106 on the same period during 1935!!

I wonder what part 'our' cars played in these awful statistics?
A sobering thought.

Hi Terry

The records show PJ 4692 was the Registration number for F0882 which was delivered new as a chassis only and fitted with a body by Jarvis.

Sadly this rare car does not appear to have survived - perhaps it became involved in an accident!

I was not able to download the picture!
