I purchased this picture a few years ago from a bookshop which was closing down, it was based at Silverstone and was well known but I cannot recall the name....!

I am not sure if the picture has previously been posted on the Forum. Looks like the start of a relay race.

Any ideas as to date and cars?

Hello George
There is a picture in the Bill Boddy History of Brooklands Motor Course (Plate 95) showing these cars probably a few minutes after your picture! It is captioned as H.G Symmonds (MG No. 14) and J.D.Barnes (Singer No.15) at the start of the 1935 LCC Relay Race.

Ebby on the left, of course. The silk union flag was apparently buried with him when he died in late 1939.
