I was following with interest, a recent post regarding Richard Hardy and his Vintage MG Parts / Facebook page...
I now see that the entire page has been removed from the Forum... I wasn’t aware that Freedom of Speech was ‘controlled’ here.. Surely this is an open forun for MMM people seeking information on topics related to MG MMM cars, parts, history, and people assosiated with...
Maybe it was a ‘hot potato’ but WHO has the right to control what we read or express within the spirit of these pages..?
Just asking...

As one who made a minor contribution to this post I too am concerned that my contribution has been expunged ...... I must confess that another post of mine was deleted for no reasonable reason but at leat the deletion and the unreasonable reason was passed on to me ..
On this occasion just removed ....... a worrying process !

Phew, and there was me thinking that I must have imagined the whole thread and I was unravelling.

It seems to be the way of the world nowadays. Just cancel those who we don't agree with! Those with the power seem to take offence very easily and have a habit of just atbitrarily punishing people for breaking arbitrary rules they didn't even know existed. Ian |

And another! At the very least we are surely entitled to an explanation as to what was so controversial about these recent posts. Neil |

I have not deleted any posts by or about Richard Hardy recently (that I remember!). Can someone give me a what the post was about or who started it? How long ago are we talking? Nick

A matter of days ago was the last post and perhaps 10 days ago was the first post which if I remember correctly was a query as how best to contact Richard Hardy

The first post was by Chris Harrill (Westbury) enquiring if anyone had had recent contact with Rich Hardy as he had been unable to contact him. That was, as Robin has said, some days ago, although I don’t think as many as 10. The last post was by Mark T Boldry on 6 April.

I believe the post may have been removed unintentionally by one of the forum admins

If that is the case Dick Morby, may I respectfully request that the ‘allegedly’ unintentionally removed thread be reinstated forthwith, if for no other reason than to stand by your suggestion and Nick’s claim.... Clearly Simon has a copy of it...

I believe there is a copy of all the individual posts that made up the complete post. If I am successful in obtaining this copy and it is complete, I will ask each of the original members who made a post to re-instate their post, in turn, so that the complete topic can be reproduced. Nick

Nick has suggested to me that since I have a copy of most of the original thread I’d just paste that here - much easier all round. I think the only bit missing is John Bakewell's assertion that the alternatives to Farcebook were too slow or did not work!

For the record, is it possible for members to know who are the administrators of this site with permissions to change, delete postings and whole threads.
