I am looking for 25A and 4.5A(5A?) glass fuses for my F and L Magnas.
The 25A were 28mm long and the 4.5A were 22mm as originally fitted in the CJF2 fuse boxes. I think I'm right in assuming that they blew at the rated value and carried half of this figure continuously.
Does anyone have spares they would sell or could suggest a source of supply? There was a forum thread on the subject of fuses back in 2014 but the various leads quoted do not seem to exist today.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mike.

Hello, Mike.
If you have any original but blown fuses, you can easily solder in some new suitable fuse wire having removed the blown wire and thus doing your bit for the environment at the same time!!

Try the Green Spark Plug Co and search on 'glass fuses'

"I think I'm right in assuming that they blew at the rated value and carried half of this figure continuously."

Correct Mike. If you can't find a source for the Lucas type, then use modern glass fuses of half the rating.

I do have a smallish stash of the 4.5A field circuit fuses. They are actually 1" long and are New Old Stock

Thanks everyone for your responses. Its the smaller 4.5A fuses which seem to be the problem, most modern fuses at 30mm long are too long to fit the clips in the CJF2 fuse box.
As Bob says I guess I could use the longer modern fuses for the 25A at 30mm that blow at 25A
Still no luck finding any 4.5A, as mentioned the old style Lucas ones were 22mm long, near enough 1".
Kevin, if my searches here in the UK prove to be unsuccessful, would you be prepared/able to donate say four? obviously I would pay plus postage etc.
Thanks again,
Best Regards,
Mike.

Mains cartridge fuses as used in a 13A plug are only 25mm long. You could use a 2A or maybe 3A one.
