I have recently taken to watching reruns of BBC's "The Repair Shop" on American cable television. Last night I was surprised to see George and Jo Ward arrive to have Jo's driving helmet repaired. I haven't seen them since they came to our house in Wallington back in the 1980s. As they arrived to collect the repair, they drove up in their MG PA.
I have also seen the episode when Simon Dinsdale came to have his father's binoculars repaired. Simon's father, Tim Dinsdale, was the owner of PB0585, an Airline Coupe which I have been researching, and a famed documentarian of the Loch Ness Monster.
Amazing that I need to watch old BBC shows to renew connections to Triple-M folk.
Sadly George died a couple of weeks ago and his funeral was on Tuesday, Jo arrived being driven in his P type, I think, wearing the said helmet. There were a lot of people there. RIP George
