Does anybody knows something about this car?
Sure, there are some MGT parts fixed.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
regards Johannes

According to the service files this is J3064, supplied new by Wadham Bros., Ltd. to the West Sussex Constabulary where Police Sgt C.T. Morris drove and crashed it! It has no Register number but was supposedly known at some point.

Hi Johannes, going from the registration number it is J 3064, ex Sussex constabulary!
Clearly very much modified - L rad, shackles on rear springs, strange petrol tank, presume T engine etc. - trials special?

Regards,
Graham

Darn, Cat beat me to it!

The only part of this car that's J2 is the number plate and the MG badge on the radiator. When this car was in an auction 2-3years ago the chassis was TA-C (front half) the rear was up and over the axle and was TD(look at the spring shackles) The axles /engine/brakes were all T type as well. The true J2 chassis was for sale with a J2 kit of parts with Barry Walker at the same time(with the true j2 identity) . I believe the new owner has now got the original number back with the j2 chassis and is Well on with the rebuild ,perhaps BW can confirm this. Oliver

I think Barrie Carter (of T type fame),also had a similar (if not the same) car for sale a few years ago.

From memory it had some trials history and is T type mechanicals with a J body.

The photo is taken from when Barrie Carter had it for sale as an X-PAG special, it was built up many years ago by John Beavan. Must been a "convenient" ID because you have to look very hard indeed to spot any J2 (or drink a lot of beer). Just to confuse everyone, both cars were for sale at the same time (April/May 2012). The BW car was all J2, came with a lot of brand new goodies (volumex, Phoenix etc) & could have been yours for £22K.

yes, in fact, i bought the car for mor than 3years ago from Barry Carter. After a recration the front, I'll recreate the rear of the car to the original style. It is very intresting for me, to get futher Information for the Time before Barrys ownership.
Now it looks so:

I think a bit better!

Johannes

Hello Johannes,
If you ever turn the car back into its original state as a J type
would you be replacing the radiator surround with a J type one ?
I am interested in buying the surround on the car now for my F type.
I notice its a F shell and does not have the slots for the lamp brackets
like the L type shell.
Please let me know as the sale might finance your purchase of a J shell.
Many thanks,
John
