I thought I would combine these 2 threads as the same subject: http://www.triple-mregister.org/forums/topic.asp?whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=15788#79558
I will add some photos of M seats when I have them to hand/remember. To my mind, foam in the seat cushion always. I would use a spring in the seatback, remember, it has thick padding over the spring before the leather/vinyl upholstery is fitted. Most if not all M-Types had vinyl upholstery, not leather, they were cheap and they cut costs incase Cecil's vision didn't sell. If spring not available I would shape the seatback out of different densities of foam until it looked and felt right, no science involved.
I can make good your existing M seats (depending on condition) or make you new M-Type seats but I'm booked up until July 2019 now.
