Come on then. How many of the MMM community were watching the sale on ebay of the 1950s car restoration project with MG ENV manual crosstube gearbox installed, and which sold 2 minutes ago

It was an F type box with the bell housing removed.

Very well spotted Andrew.

It had all the hallmarks of a great initial find and may have fooled a few as a crosstube was visible, but didn’t quite look the right shade from what coulD be seen. Further investigations became more revealing.

I suspect the box had been mutulated as a result of a crash as otherwise, can’t understand why they would remove the bellhousing and graft the box around 12 inches back from the clutch cover.
