I have seen this car before. Must have been around 15 years ago when acquired by a dealer friend of mine (the late) Dick Parrett. It had already received a number of modifications at that time and was all a bit 'tired'. I did comtemplate buying it but felt that the alterations were not to my taste. The car was bought by Cambridge based joinery expert, (also the late) Joe Diver. Joe carried out further alterations to the car to suit his requirements, one of which was the steering wheel which, if you look closely, is 'offset' vertically to give more leg room. The fact that the altered bodywork included 2 small rear seats suited Joe as he liked to take his grand children out in the car. The proliferation of wood reflects Joe's joinery backround. |

I just love the way the car starts to come alive when you know a bit more about the history and why it was modified the way it is. :D
To be honest, it isn't really to my taste either, but I like Mike's suggestion that it is good to go for an entry at the Kimber trial :) |
