I am looking for a 'tray' for a remote gear-change. Does anyone have one surplus?

Or has anyone had a go at reproducing them?

No - but a tobacco tin ( e.g. Golden Virginia ) is exactly the right size and just need a couple of little brackets bolted or soldered on !

Allan, I previously came up with this idea which looks like it would work -

...but I am keen on the original version even though Golden Virginia looks like a good alternative solution.

Sam your "alternative" looks very neat. I made up a small batch of these trays some years ago out of tin sheet braised on to a top plate like you have used. I had to cut and braise the corners but they looked very close to the original when fitted and painted black. No there are none left before anyone asks !

Thanks Terry. I think I might have a go at making one if I cannot find an original.

Presumably the tooling to make a batch of these would be too expensive.
