I saw this car at the Bicester Heritage Scramble yesterday, the Registration number is not recorded in the Register.

The car looks to be built on a N chassis, does anyone know the identity? It could be a P Gregory built car?

DVLA show it as a 1934 MG of 1086cc capacity.

I’m reliably informed that this is KN274 which was formerly MG 6672 (and is listed as such in the printed Register) before acquiring the age related (?) DSV 201

I do not think the car is KN0274 which is currently listed in the Register with the Registration number MG 6672.

I had a brief look at the rear of the chassis of the car at Bicester and feel sure the width of the rails relate to N dimensions?

This is KN0274 as shown in the Register listing when owned by Patrick Gardner. (Terrible quality photo, but it certainly looks to be the same car.)

Lest anyone doubt the identity of this car, my source of information about it is Oliver Richardson who looked after it for Patrick Gardner and who handled the sale of it on his behalf a couple of years ago.

As I mentioned in my initial posting the Registration number DSV 201 is not recorded in the file for KN0274. The current Registration number for this car is currently recorded as APO 415 which is original to chassis KN0274. There is a note of the Registration MG6672.

The Registration number DSV 201 might be an age related plate and the person who acquired this appears not to have notified the late Peter Green who would have been the current Registrar.

This car was built for John Wilkinson in the early 1980's by Dave Cooksey and raced a few times at Silverstone etc. John built the original engine which was later changed for a 'bigger better' new one from the Bob Jones stable. It went very well on the few times I borrowed it! The chassis is KN and came from Peter Warne - he and John jointly ran a boat tail K3 rep earlier that went to Japan I think? Peter , I seem to recall, retained the Reg number so John had to go with an age related plate. John sold the car to Patrick Gardner in the late 1980's where it joined his fantastic stable of interesting motors and was regularly exercised. Oliver Richardson always looked after the car.
