Hi All

I am here by chance to see if my Dads old MG still exists?
My Dad recently passed away and he always went on lamenting about his MG M type. He loved it.

This picture is between 1957 and 1962. I believe he parted with her sometime around 62 (when I came along!).
Some time around 1990 he told me he was contacted by a current owner so I know at least the VIN and chassis still existed then?
I remember because they were restoring it and wanted to paint it red! It was BRG so he was a bit niffed.
I know the number plate is currently on a red Mazda MX5 according to DVLC?
So I'm reaching out to those in the know? Does she still exist? PL9336 is all I know, Jarvis body? Registered between MAY 1930 to AUG 1931? Dad was born in 1933 so it was already older than he was.
Any information would be interesting or even an image if she is still around?
Thanks in advance.
Tom

An excellent photo!

Sadly, it appears that registration number is now allocated to a red Mazda.

Others here may know if the actual car survives

Hi Tom

The Register shows the chassis number as 2M2861, current Registration 969 YUF, colour green.

There has been no recent information about the car but our M type Registrar/expert Mike Dalby might have some information.

Found this image with a Google search. Apparently taken at Goodwood Revival.

As things move on and I sort out things ... I know there are lots of images of this car and some colour slides. I will eventually scan them and post them for historical interest? It may take a month or so though.

PS I am an old car enthusiast. My current baby is an immaculate '96 Z28. Not in the same league as this of course.
