New Event - Pre-War MG Gathering – Prescott, 29th September 2024
I was fortunate to attend two Pre-war Prescott events organised by Ian Grace which were superb fun. Sadly PWP in its previous format is no more, but myself and others are keen to test ourselves and our machines again with a blast up the hill in a non-competitive way!
So, in an attempt to recreate some of the atmosphere of the PWP event, I have been in discussion with Prescott and have arranged an informal “Pre-War MG Gathering” on their car club day on the 29th September for those who would relish the opportunity to “run the hill” once again.
The format of the event and entry is as follows:
“This is a non-competitive hill drive event for specially invited car clubs and members. Cars must be road registered and road legal in order to take part. Please note all drivers and passengers must hold a valid 2024 RS Clubman license issued by Motorsport UK” (as was needed for PWP before; this is free & easy to obtain via the link below)
Hill drive entries are £65.00 which includes 4 runs up the hill and we will also have a dedicated MG parking area in the paddock.
There is also an option for a display of non-competing cars in the Orchard for up to 12 cars with passengers at a cost of £120. I don’t plan on taking this option unless feedback suggest there are sufficient numbers interested.
Prescott have confirmed plenty of availability, but please note that each attendee needs to make an individual entry using the link below. On the entry form please tick the Pre-War MG Gathering.
Prescott run club days twice a year in April and September, however I would not wait too long before booking for September as the April event sold out before I had a chance to finalise. I already know several who are interested, so please
spread the word and post on the forum to let us know you are coming.
I will also be checking entries with Prescott directly.
As a matter of interest, the VSCC Vintage Long Course is the day before.
Hope to see you there ! William Opie

Fantastic opportunity! Very sorry I cannot put on PWP this year, but I'm certain there will be a PWP Revival meet in the fullness of time!

In the meantime, you are all warmly invited to Pre-War Ludlow, the weekend of 20th/21st July. Full details and an entry form at:

Nine MMM entries so far.

Good idea William! ... It will be good to see a gathering of Triple-M cars at Prescott again.

This is also excellent value for money with 4 runs for £65 ... the day before is VSCC Long Course where your 4 runs would cost £179.

Looking forward to it!

Well done William. I am doing the VSCC long course, so the additional day makes a perfect weekend!

Great idea. Our first visit to Prescott was when we organised 4 days of events to celebrate the Register’s 40th anniversary in 2001.

We had about 124 cars there - happy days!

Hi Will

Good to see you today and we’re definitely interested in doing this in the Tigress and J2.

Great idea!

Thanks

Andrew
