I came across a splendid series of time lapse/stop motion videos of engine rebuilds published by Hagerty. This one, of a big block Chevy V8, gives a good taster.

Yes that’s true but the proper British chaps did it in a quarter of the time. I plan to show both to the extremely careful and methodical engineer who’s (very slowly) helping me rebuild my 1925 Riley 11/40 engine at the moment. I’m not sure he is online though!
