Does anyone know where I can find door check strap fixing plates like the ones shown in the attached picture?

Thanks Bruce, Yes I've seen these, the pictures seem to show the straps are just attached by screwing through the leather. The plates shown in my F type picture were supplied by our Dutch friends a few years ago, but are no longer offered on their website. They provide a stronger and a very neat attachment and I was hoping to use the same for my L Type doors. Cheers, Mike

You could make them using a sheet of steel and a block as a form to fold on. Then braze the joins polish and plate.
