Can anyone suggest a modern equivalent (a reasonable match) for the 'cream' which appeared on 12/12 M-types or other early 1930's MG's ? I am having some wheels painted and need to decide.

Sam,
I do not know what colour cream was used on the 12/12 M types but I used ICI County Cream (P42-0057)when I painted the Cream Cracker.

Sam, I can confirm Peter may be right, as I used County Cream to paint my MG YB a couple of years ago, which I bought from Ken & Lynne paint specialist from Buxton, Derbyshire.

Country Cream is the newer name for the original cream or ivory MG used for the T series, BMC code YL6
The earlier Ivory had a BMC code of YL5 often called Sequoia or Cream.
Country Cream is similar to Ivory but is a little dirtier (sorry trade talk)than the Pre War Ivory.

Sam For powder coating your wheels you will need an "RAL" number - either RAL 1013, 1014, 1015 or 9001 or BS00E55, BS08B15 a name for a paint shade is no use, nor a BMC code Tony |

Peter, why wouldn't you judge the colour from my photo of the YB? It is the exact paint number you described/stated!

Looks different to me, but then maybe it's just the lighting conditions?

Chris,
On my screen the colour of your YB does not look the same as the Cream Cracker, but as Peter S. says it might be the different light conditions. I hope this picture reflects the colour better.
Peter, you have shown the NE (Aramis)not the PB Cream Cracker - but both cars were painted in the same colour.

Can anyone advise regarding Tony's observation -
For powder coating your wheels you will need an "RAL" number - either RAL 1013, 1014, 1015 or 9001 or BS00E55, BS08B15....
I set special store by what Tony says......he is rebuilding and painting the wheels.

Can somebody (Peter?) tell me the ICI paint code for the brown so that I can pass this on to Colin Williams in Canada (who wants to have his TC painted in Cream Cracker colours)? |

Oops! Colin Williams and his TC are in South Africa - it's Colin Young and his TC who are in Canada! |
