The photos were taken by Beryl Martinez (from the Ronald Shaw collection) at Heller Ranch Tine Trial, 1st November, 1953..
This is the last motorsport event Doreen Evans competed in. She crashed her MG TD MkII at Heller Ranch and broke two of her ribs in the process. The TD was quite badly damaged.
Ron Shaw believes the main photo may be a family portrait – from the left:
possibly Annie (Denis Evans second wife),
Unknown person - possibly Denis Evans
Doreen Evans and
(back to the camera), Kenneth Evans or is it Doreen's second husband,
George Boyer?. The second photo reveals this man's face.
The child is Antony, Doreen’s second son.
Neither Ron nor I have a picture of Denis in the US nor a picture of his second Wife, Annie. Can anyone confirm who these people are? Denis was in the US at the time of this trial, he had returned from UK a few weeks earlier, and earlier in the year he had married Annie.
I wondered if the guy in the chequered shirt may be Doreen's second husband, again I have no picture of him but he has the look (my perception) of a 'dude ranch owner'!!
