Does anyone have much history on this car? Chassis F0736. I know it was exported to Switzerland in the 1930s and spent part of its life in NL. It was also originally a Salonette. Any visual history and info on original colours would be gratefully received.

This car is known to the Register. In the current Register Listing as MMM number 2979 owned by John Lomas in the U.K. but with its Dutch Registration number quoted.

Colin, I think the Dutch reg predates its ownership by Carlie Cartwright and then John Lomas of the M G Automobile Company. The car appears to be up for sale currently.

Ah... that's my fault sorry.Nee to all of this. I've just bought the car. She'll be delivered next week. I'll locate the form to correctly register her.

Well done Paul and a warm welcome to the Triple-M fraternity.

George Eagle is the registrar for the F types (among others types) and I'm sure he will be in touch with you to exchange info with you and let you know what the Register can do to support you in (hopefully) your enjoyment of the car.

As you are at Chalfont St Peter (not a million miles from where I live) perhaps our paths will cross. You are certainly close to Farnham Royal where the register holds its popular annual Summer Gathering which attracts a large number of cars and owners in a great social setting. Date not yet finalised but is likely to be on a Sunday during July.

Hi Paul

I will contact you direct, well done on purchasing a very nice car. The records show it started life as a salonette and was exported to Switzerland when new.

A lot F types salonettes and 4 seat tourers have been rebuilt with 2 seat bodies. It is nice to see one car which has been re-bodied as a quite rare 4 seater!

Paul,

When mmaking a posting you'll see a paperclip symbol below the pane in which you are writing.

Click on that symbol and it will invite you to Choose an image file from wherever the desired image is stored on your device. The file must be a .jpg file and not bigger that 10 MB.

Having chosen the file, click the 'Attach image' button, after which the file should appear in your posting.

Hope this helps!

Paul James. Here to see some photos of the F1 Magna (F/0736) which you do not want to see. The original Salonette seen to be scalped and abused into so sort of tourer. Far but a fine special Swiss coachwork, but a bad home job. Send me your e-mail adress for the stories of the so-far known 13 Dutch owners: w.krook@chello.nl.
