My PA is missing Car Number plate. I ordered a new blank and am trying to get needed numbers. I understand the Body Type for PA 2-seater is B251. I have received various responses for the Car Number. MMM Database provided following for my car: Chassis PA1936; Engine number 2233AP; Body Number (MG) 1254; Body Number (Carbodies) 2023; Build date 12 March 1935. After 1934 open cars were built by Morris Bodies and numbers attributed to Carbodies are incorrect. I have received conflicting information. I was told to use Body type followed by the Carbodies Number (B251 2023). Another was to use the MG car number followed by the Morris Bodies Number (1254 ????) The 3rd answer is to use the Morris Bodies Number. The Morris Bodies numbers are not included in MMM records. The numbers were sequentially assigned. Can anyone with PA 2-seater send me car number and Morris Bodies Number.

As we have discussed, Glenn, Carbodies did not build the PA 2 seater bodies, Morris Bodies Branch did. The nomenclature in the database is incorrect. Therefore, the stamping on your data plate should be B251/2023.

Glenn, this is the original body number plate from PA 0568

I have to confess I have no idea of the relevance of "337" but 281 is the body number as evidenced by its being stamped into the rear face of the body timber above the passenger's knees.
