After a 27 year history with post war MG’s I bought my first pre war MG last year. Since December I’m the proud owner of the MG PB with chassis no: 0758, Triple-M register no: 1542 and UK licence JX 4101.

John Innes from Abingdon Works Centre told me that the factory files available go only up to PB 0749.
In the meantime I performed some research and identified the names of the last six owners of the car. One of the previous owners told me that a person from the Isle of Wight, UK owned the car until 1974 but he couldn’t remember the name. I would be delighted if anyone could give me any information, details, photos, … about the history of the car.
Thanks
Oliver

Philip Riden's book 'How to trace the history of your car' ISBN 1 898937 25 7, gives JX 4101 as Halifax B, from April 1936.

The West Yorkshire Archive Centre 'phone is given as 01422 392636 plus the 0044 GB code, of course.

A 'phone request should reveal whether the record exists.

Bob.

Hi Oliver

Welcome to our web site and congratulations on owning PB0758. I hope you have advised our Registrar Robin Hamblett that you are the new owner.

If you require one I can supply a Triple-M Register badge engraved with the Triple-M number 1542; order form can be down loaded from the Documents page of this web site.

The 2013 printed Register shows the car as being owned by Horst Walther and that it has cycle wings and Marshall supercharger.

PB0758 is near the end of the production line, there are only 9 chassis numbers listed in The Register after PB0758.

Regards

George Eagle,
Hon Secretary

Hi George,

Yes, I registered the car last night under my name.

The Triple-M Register badge is fitted at the car, thanks.

I know Horst since 27 years and bought the car from him. You are right, the car is fitted with cycle wings and Marshall Supercharger.

Regards,
Oliver
