Met an elderly chap the other week who was desperately trying to recall the details of MMM cars he had owned in the 1980s. He has now sent me the attached picture and asks if the car survives or what happened to it if it succumbed. It doesn't show on DVLA file. Thanks Keith

Keith
This is K0300 - a K1 which has been rebuilt in the style of a K3 (another one you might say....)
The records show that the car is with a Mr. Bill Wilson but that the last owner change was in 1961. The photos we have of the car appear rather more recent - you can see them if you look up this car on this website.
Two questions:
1. Have you updated your Forum profile to include your current e-mail address - that's really a question for all readers 2. Is Bill Wilson (or the current owner of K0300) out there somewhere?

Keith, Further detective work suggests that we might know the name of the owner back in 2009, when the car was resident in Kent.
Was the name of your enquirer Mr. Bill Wilson or A N Other?

Dick, The gentleman I met was indeed Mr Bill Wilson who said that he sold the car to Peter Gregory in 1987, with a written guarantee from Peter Gregory that he would restore it as original K1 four seater tourer - so much for the guarantee! Is the car still registered as JB1705 and on record as a K1 or a K3? Bill would love to know what has happened to it. I think he said that he had some early paperwork relating to the car which he bought in 1968. Perhaps we can put Bill and the current owner in touch? Keith

Returning rather sheepishly from my self imposed exile, I would like to say, if of interest, that I have the original preselector gearbox from this car.
The vehicle was originally supplied to a Mr J. H.Summerfield from Birmingham who had the car heavily modified by the works.
I have a very large Club file for this car which makes fascinating reading.
Chris.

Thanks Chris,
I know that Peter Green, who is the Registrar for the K-types wold be particularly interested to see the file. Is it available to share with the Register, please?

Hello Dick, Certainly, but I obtained the file through the MG Car Club so it is available to all.
Please let me know if I can help further. Incidentally, I did buy my gearbox from Peter Gregory which ties in with Keith's information.
