| It looks good on the photo but it was at NEC and close up doors poor fit bonnet a poor fit wrong wings and the upholstery looks wrong so is it the competition history that gives it such an inflated price? Terry W. |

I saw the car when offered for sale at the Goodwood Revival. It also has some rather non-standard features

Not sure about "In terms of originality she is one of the best".
J2913 was supplied by Tucker Bros of Watford, via UML.
Yes, it has some trials history, including one DNF in the London to Exeter.
It was owned by Brian Sayers (ex T-Type racer) for a couple of years between 1995 and 1997. It was put up for sale in 1997 and having taken months with little or no buyer interest, was finally sold at auction. Brian can't remember the exact figure, but thinks it was about 10 GBP.

Chris, that chap on the right in the photo is a great guy, and despite what his shop looks like the work coming out of it is of very good quality. That was a fun visit.
On my way back home from a ten day road trip. Philadelphia Art Museum craft show, down to D.C. to pick up a shipment of parts for the 11 MMM project (as well as parts for friends J2s), back to NYC to help my daughter move.
I’m ready to be home and work on my cars!

Yes Tom, his name is Ian. He is an antique furniture conserver and was happy to assist me with reconstructing the original frame. Its amazing to see the quality of his work from his very well used workshop. I did tidy up once, but got told off as Ian said that he could not find anything after.

I do believe it is 11 cars: bought from a collector/hoarder in the UK who apparently realised the Big Clock had almost ticked round to midnight and he was never going to get round to all those restorations.
Sobering thought for those of us in a similar position...

Lots of detailing is sadly incorrect here and not all is easily correctable to demand a 2x price tag, unless it has amazing history.
Also, is that a non-J2 gearbox, (Wolseley syncro box) lurking there possibly. Then the question is, are these J2 ratios or more PA / Wolseley??

I agree this is a synchromesh gearbox identifiable by the larger gap between the edge of the bell housing and the gear change mounting.
It is most probably the Morris Minor version of the synchromesh gearbox suggested by the 4/17 speedometer drive. Wolseley 9 (for example) is 3/12.
