Would anyone have a Triple M Yearbook for 2003? I would be very pleased to have a copy of an article on page 40 entitled "M-type to Monte Carlo" by R Gordon. Any help would be much appreciated. I believe it is the car pictured below.

You can still buy the 2003 yearbook from the library.

Thanks Nick. I cannot be sure it is even the same car but I was hoping someone could identify VU 5270. Perhaps it even survives somewhere today.

I am given to understand that a M type with this registration was sold in in Wiltshire during March this year.

It looked to be in a fairly complete state but in need of TLC.

It is interesting to note the much needed front mud flaps that were fitted in the 1950s.

I am pleased to say a member has very kindly allowed me to view the article and VU 5270 is indeed the car in the car which appears in the 2003 Triple M Yearbook.

Is Robin Gordon who wrote the article an active member today?

It is the same person indeed. See a picture of him in his C type in 'Members cars C0290'. Also the report of the 2012 Summer Gathering in the Oct 2012 Bulletin.

No doubt Ray Masters will add further comment as Robin has been a personal friend of his for many years.

The Registration number is not listed in the 2013 printed Register.

That C type driver does indeed look like Robin Gordon who has owned C0290 for something like 50 years. A lovely and original car.

I wonder if Robin has seen the recent pictures of VU 5270. Though certainly more than ready for some restoration it has survived the last 60 plus years surprisingly well.

The 'originality' zealots can have some fun philosophising about this one.

I have told Robin of this posting. Whilst still a dedicated Triple-M guy he is not a regular reader of the forum as many of us are.
His C-Type is ''on the button'' & ,hopefully ,will be out & about in the near future.
The pictures posted by Brian were taken on a demonstration lap or two of Oulton Park at an MG meeting a couple of years ago.
